Is it better to have my fans directly connected to my psu or to have the fans connected to the motherboard?

ok so i just want the best cooling for my system and i dont care for loudness, so is it better to have my fans in the chassis hooked up to the psu or connect them to the motherboard? i have three connectors for fans on my motheroard and i have 4 fans (one on the front) so whats the best way to go?
